Announcement โ€“ New H1N1 Education Program for Adults

September 2, 2009

A pandemic H1N1 influenza epidemic could have catastrophic effects on businesses, schools and households due to a major disruption of normal operations and income. To meet the educational needs of our community and prevent panic, the McMillen Center for Health Education is offering its newest program called: H1N1 What You Need to Know Now.

H1N1: What You Need to Know Now will focus on the characteristics of the pandemic H1N1 influenza virus. It will empower adults to recognize the signs and symptoms of the illness. Adults will learn how to identify a child or adult requiring emergency medical attention. Prevention through reducing transmission, healthful tips, and vaccinations will be discussed. The “fear factor” and myths about the disease will be dispelled. H1N1: What You Need to Know Now will be useful for businesses, school personnel, churches or any other organization who wants to educate the adults of our community.

To schedule a 45 minute program, or to ask questions, call 260-456-4511 or email lhathaway@mcmillencenter.org. The cost per session is $150.00. The program may be taught at your site, at the Center, or through interactive video conferencing.
