Interactive Videoconferencing (IVC) Distance Education
About IVCView IVC ProgramsInteractive Videoconferencing allows schools and other organizations that would otherwise not have the ability to come to the McMillen Center to enjoy our fun, interactive programs. Through IVC, students from across the globe can connect with the McMillen Center to receive vital health education. This real-time learning environment can be as effective as a face-to-face interaction but without the hassle and costs of travel. Props are shipped to the connecting site to help enhance the learning experience. Each program is aligned with National Health Education Standards. Our goal for each program is to incorporate youth participation, making the learning environment fun and highly effective. Topics are age appropriate and designed to maximize positive outcomes in knowledge, attitude, and life-long behavior. If you are unsure whether or not you have access to this technology, your principal or technology specialists should be able to provide that information to you.
SchedulingPresentations are 45 minutes in length; programs are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. For optimum interactivity, we suggest no more than 35 students per session. Complete the Online Registration Form, providing all requested information. An e-mail acknowledgement will be sent to you within 2-3 business days. Our programs are scheduled through the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration and Acelink.
RatesThe rate for a standard videoconference is $150 per receiving site. Bridging fees, if applicable, will be paid by the customer. Many schools are eligible for the discounts, scholarships and free sessions we offer. Please, visit our IVC Grants and Discounts page for a full listing.
